About Sheri

Sheri Castor, MA, provides one-hour sessions for individuals and couples seeking biblically grounded support through the ministry of The Church at Maltby & Monroe.

We ask for a suggested donation of $50 per session to help support this ministry.

For 15 years, Sheri maintained a private counseling practice in Manson, WA, as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and later served for two years at Heritage Church in Baxter, MN.

Approach to Counseling

Sheri’s counseling is rooted in a biblical worldview and is aligned with the doctrinal teachings of The Church at Maltby & Monroe. This allows her to offer a unique approach that is both clinically informed and spiritually grounded.

Life Verse

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” Isaiah 61:1–3

Personal Interests

When she’s not counseling, Sheri enjoys backpacking, snowshoeing, bike riding (on her e-bike) and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She’s also a lifelong fan of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, which always adds a touch of joy and fun to her life.

What is Christian Counseling?

Christian counseling combines faith with therapeutic practice to help people work through emotional struggles from a biblical perspective. Its goal is to provide compassionate support that not only addresses mental health challenges but also strengthens a person’s spiritual foundation. By grounding therapy in Scripture, Christian counseling offers hope and guidance that connects emotional healing with faith in God.

As mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and addiction continue to rise, the role of Christian counselors has become increasingly important. They serve both in church ministries and in clinical contexts, helping individuals find purpose and freedom through Christ-centered care. For those considering this path, Christian counseling provides an opportunity to serve others while fulfilling a calling rooted in both compassion and faith.
